MORE BLUE FOR THE KITCHEN. AND CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Hope you are all having a nice Tuesday. I have been doing more craft projects, just need to take pics so I can show you. Have been wrapping a few more extra bits for Christmas, Hubby has taken
Christmas decorations down from the barn today . Must be my age but it does not seem so long ago I packed them all up to go away. It's so funny as a child Christmas seems to take forever to come and as a adult it is here too soon. I bought some beautiful things from a craft fair I went with a friend, again need to take pics for you. Already have watched a couple of Christmas films on t.v. So getting into the spirit. What does everyone think of the John Lewis Christmas advert on t.v. I loved last years, not sure about this years with the man on the moon.

Birthday tomorrow 11th so spending time with family. My present has been hidden, so can't wait.
Hopefully there will be cake!  I will let you know how it goes.......

Now a little post untill I get my camera out.........
As you all know I had to change my fridge freezer as my Smeg had a few problems.
And my new fridge freezer is now blue.  There was a small gap between it and the front door.
So this is what I bought. It is a blue wire large veg rack. in a perfect blue.
It is so large I can use the top basket for my fruit instead of having a fruit bowl.

All the baskets come off and then it folds flat so great if we move.
I do not know how I coped before I had it. Now I can see exactly what I
have and exactly what I need to stock up with. My daughter even thought
it was Vintage it is so well done with the paint effect.

For those of you not even thinking about Christmas I apologise for all the references to the big
day.   Did you count how many times I mentioned Christmas on this page?

BERTIE AND CHARLIE MUGS

I thought I would show you what I picked up for my children.
As you know if you are a regular reader, that two of our dogs are
Patterdale Border Terriors, they are brothers. Charlie is my sons dog.
                    And Bertie is my daughters..

I found two mugs with pictures on which looked like their dogs.

This one I thought looked like Charlie

And this I thought looked like Bertie.

                                                                       Charlie.

                                                                      Bertie.

                                                              What do you think.

                                                             My children loved them.

A FREEZING DAY AT KIT HILL

Sunday I went with my son to Kit Hill for him to do a photo shoot for his A Levels.
So I thought I might as well take my camera as well.
But it was a freezing day and up on a hill with the wind blowing it was unbearable.
I managed to get a few pictures to show you. But by the end we could not feel our hands.
It is a beautiful spot and the views are amazing.

Then home for two hot chocolates.

A COLD DAY SO IN NEED OF SOME PRETTIES.

Are you keeping warm. It is really cold here in my part of Cornwall.
But we have only had one morning of ice so far. And I hope we
do not get any more......The house looks so bare so I treated myself
to some roses. I found some pretty ones and they were only
£3.00 so not an expensive treat. (still trying to save the pennies).

I have put them in my new jug. I brought it at a Christmas Craft Fair.
So it is hand made by a local artist.

It has a tree on each side.
And I love the colour of it.

I really prefer to buy something that someone has put all their
love and talent into than buy mass produced.
You pay a little more but you get a lot more.

Do you think my pictures are a lot brighter, using my new camera instead
of phone. On auto still but I think the pictures are a lot clearer.

AN OLD CAT NEEDS A GOOD HOME.

Not too far from me is Tavistock in Devon.
It is a beautiful place to visit with lots of independent shops.
I love to have a wonder around their indoor pannier market.
Which changes depending on the day of the week.

The day I went it was an antique, vintage market.

So I knew I would not come home empty handed.

And this is what came home with me.

                                        A very old  tatty cat.

I love his or her long limbs.

I do not buy many soft toys. But I think this one needed a good home.
If you are wondering about the cards in the picture. It was my birthday
last Nov.  Still catching up with posts..............

MAKING LISTS. USING UP WHAT YOU HAVE.

Today was a cold wet day. So I stayed home to keep warm,
after I did the school run and fed all the animals.
I decided that I needed to be more organised with my food shopping.
                           So I began making lists.

First I went through all my cupboards .

I  have already brought four washing powders when they were half price.
So that is already a big saving.

Not enough room in the cupboards so bits on top.!

Still lots of pastas and rice left.

And this is all my baking bits. Completely full up. Still got jars of
mincemeat. Never got around to making any mince pies.
                           So must make some now....

I have two freezers. One is still full up and this one is half full.

Next I wrote everything I had down.
                                              (Excuse the messy writing)

Then I made a meal plan for the next month.

Then worked out what I needed to buy each week.

Including food for the dogs etc.And toiltries.

Now I have a list for each week of exactly what I need to buy To
make all my meals. And lots of the meals I have arranged around what I have left .
I am determined to spend less but eat well. And try not to waste food.

I have done meal plans before but not to this extreme.

You are probably thinking this does not look like my kitchen .

You are right. I keep my food in my utility room which is open
to my kitchen. As I have no wall units in my kitchen.

Have you made any lists food or otherwise.

                                      Would love to hear.

FREEZING AT THE BEACH

How has your weekend. gone?

We have had a very busy one here.

Saturday my son had his first ever driving lesson. I can not believe my youngest is
old enough to be behind a steering wheel. Off he went in the afternoon and came back
really happy having drove the car and parked outside our house........
He is really excited to learn and is having another lesson Wed then Sat again.
I still can not believe my little boy is 17 and will be 18 this year. The years have flown!

Still windy and cold in Cornwall. My son had to do a few pictures for his photography A
levels so we decided to head for the beach on Sunday.
We have lots of beaches close by but today we went to Looe. Being Sunday and
January it was not busy, a few of the towns independent shops were open and we had to
have some chips, well you do on a cold day. Then we went down to the beach.
We had taken just two dogs with us. Bailey and Archie. Archie was in his new
over the body bag.so he was nice and warm. And Bailey wore his purple knitted jumper.
Looe beach you are not allowed to walk the dogs on but you can walk along the edge.
My son took his pictures while I walked Bailey, but it was really windy and cold, bitter cold.
We were all glad to get back to the car to warm up. As my son had his camera I asked him to take
a couple of pics to show you.

First time Archie has seen the sea. But it was so cold he was not that interested.
And most of the time he was completely down in his bag.

As you can see it was not a hair day. With my hair I found it differcult to see most
of the time with the wind blowing.

My son took these pictures in about five minutes because it was too cold
to keep still for long. I needed hat and gloves.

Come the summer you can not move in Looe for tourist's. And the beach will be
full with happy holiday makers. It was freezing but I prefer Looe in the Winter.
